The newcomer's guide to anonymous communication on Freenet

This is tutorial is designed for anyone who wants to use Freenet primarily for anonymous and censorship-resistant social networking and truly private email.

Some of the default settings for a Freenet install are not optimal for this usage and many of the steps are not documented anywhere so this is an attempt to bring all the information into one place.

Some of the plugins we will be using require more resources than what a typical installation of Freenet needs. You should have at least 2 GiB of memory on the computer you are using.

Use the navigation links on the right side of the screen to get started.
